Turkey's Crude Steel Production Increased by 7.8% in August

Turkey's crude steel production increased by 7.8% in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 3.4 million tons. Billet production increased by 7.6% to 2.1 million tons, and slab production rose by 8.1% to 1.3 million tons.

In light of these data, crude steel production in the 8-month period increased by 0.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 24.9 million tons. Billet production increased by 3.7%, while slab production recorded a decrease of 5.2%.

In the 8-month period, 72.8% of crude steel production was carried out by Electric Arc Furnaces, and 27.2% by Integrated Plants.

The increases of 4.2% in July and 7.8% in August were effective in turning steel production in a positive direction.
