Industry Gathering in Honor of Uğur Dalbeler's worldsteel Presidency

The Steel Foreign Trade Association evaluated Uğur Dalbeler's Presidency of the World Steel Association and the global role of Turkish steel with leading figures of the industry at a special dinner held in Istanbul on November 19, 2025.

The Steel Foreign Trade Association brought together leading figures of the Turkish steel industry at a special dinner in Istanbul to celebrate Uğur Dalbeler's election as President of the World Steel Association (worldsteel). At the event held on November 19, 2025, Dalbeler's contributions to the international steel industry and Turkey's position in the global steel market were discussed.

Industry Veterans Gathered at the Same Table

In addition to the veteran of the industry, Bayram Aslan, many pioneering figures such as Namık Ekinci, Hasan Çolakoğlu, Işın Çelebi, Ahmet Nur Çebi, Halil Şahin, Faruk Ekinci, Ahmet Yolbulan, Naci Faydasıçok, and Mustafa Açıkalın were among the guests. The meeting was also attended by leading industrialists, company representatives, association managers, and distinguished figures from the business world, including Dr. Veysel Yayan.

In his opening speech, Namık Ekinci, Chairman of the Board of the Steel Foreign Trade Association, evaluated Uğur Dalbeler's election as President of the World Steel Association as the result of long-term effort. Ekinci stated, "Mr. Uğur Dalbeler's election as President of the World Steel Association is actually the natural outcome of the effort he has put in for many years. Tuncay Sergen, who spoke at the event, emphasized Dalbeler's personal and professional qualities. Sergen said, "Mr. Uğur's hardworking nature, high-level interpersonal skills, modest personality, and reliability have enabled him to achieve difficult tasks and reach high-level positions. We believe his new role will further enhance the impact of Turkish steel on the international stage."

Dalbeler's Contributions and Expectations for the New Era

During the evening, former State Minister Işın Çelebi, Selim Ergüder, Ahmet Erciyas on behalf of the Steel Exporters' Association, and Dr. Veysel Yayan on behalf of the Turkish Steel Producers Association also delivered speeches. The speeches highlighted Uğur Dalbeler's contributions to the steel industry and business world both domestically and internationally; it was emphasized that Dalbeler's new role would strengthen Turkey's visibility and effectiveness in the global steel market.

In his speech, Uğur Dalbeler talked about the place of the World Steel Association Presidency in his career and his connection with the industry. At the end of the program, Namık Ekinci, Chairman of the Board of the Steel Foreign Trade Association, presented Uğur Dalbeler with a plaque, wishing that his new role would inspire the industry. This plaque was recorded as a meaningful gesture symbolizing the value given to Dalbeler's nearly forty years of professional experience and the Turkish steel industry's claim on the world stage.
