Uğur Dalbeler Becomes the New President of Worldsteel

Uğur Dalbeler Becomes the New President of Worldsteel The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced that it has elected new Board members for the 2025/2026 term.

Uğur Dalbeler, General Manager of Çolakoğlu Metalurji, Vice President of the Steel Exporters' Association, and a member of our Association's Board of Directors, was elected as the Chairman of the Board, while Thachat Viswanath Narendran, CEO and General Manager of Tata Steel, and Abdulqader Almubarak, CEO of Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed), were appointed as Vice Chairmen. Mark Vassella, CEO of BlueScope Steel Limited, was elected as the Treasurer.

Additionally, the Executive Committee for the 2025/2026 term has been determined. The committee includes; Abdulqader AlMubarak (Saudi Iron & Steel Company – Hadeed), In Hwa Chang (POSCO Holdings), Uğur Dalbeler (Çolakoğlu Metalurji A.Ş.), Masayuki Hirose (JFE Steel Corporation), Hu Wangming (China Baowu Steel Group), Tadashi Imai (Nippon Steel Corporation), Sajjan Jindal (JSW Steel Limited), André Bier Gerdau Johannpeter (Gerdau S.A.), Liu Jian (HBIS Group), Lakshmi N. Mittal (ArcelorMittal), Alexey A. Mordashov (Severstal), Thachat Viswanath Narendran (Tata Steel), Paolo Rocca (Techint Group), Leon Topalian (Nucor Corporation), and Hubert Zajicek (voestalpine AG). Edwin Basson, the General Director of Worldsteel, will serve as the Committee Secretary. Worldsteel also welcomed new regular members, GPH Ispat Limited from Bangladesh represented by Salehin Musfique Sadaf, and OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd. from Australia represented by Sebastian Hams. Italy-based Tenova S.p.A. joined worldsteel as an affiliated member represented by Roberto Pancaldi. We congratulate Uğur Dalbeler on taking on this important role representing the Turkish steel industry at an international level and wish him continued success.
